Innovative Sustainability: How Tesla Renewables Are Bringing Energy Home

Tesla is one of the world’s leading brands and a powerhouse in electric vehicle production. They’re known as the business that champions clean energy, but over the last 10 years, Tesla has grown, offering even more to its customers. In today’s blog, we will discuss how the business has evolved and the range of Tesla renewable options it now provides homeowners.

How it all started

Starting as a Californian Tech company, Tesla’s vision from the start was to create a high-performance electric car that was technically advanced with no compromises. Electric vehicles themselves had been around long before the 21st Century, with the first prototypes appearing in the 1830s.

General Motors EV1 rolled out in the late 1990s, giving the world a glimpse of the possibilities electric cars could offer. Unfortunately, in 2000, General Motors issued a recall after discovering that the charge port cables could overheat and, in some cases, cause a fire. This is partly what inspired Tesla founders Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning to develop their own electric vehicle.

From the mid-2000s onward, Tesla has only grown in size and popularity, now selling a desirable model that also helps save the planet.

Tesla Home Charging

Tesla is one of the companies leading the way toward sustainable living with its range of renewable energy products. They’ve created the perfect system that works around you, reducing the need for 3rd-party systems. In 2012, the company released a charger that not only worked with its own electric cars but could also charge other electric vehicles. The Wall Connector was equipped with a J1772 connector, meaning it didn’t just service their own models.

As we mentioned earlier, Tesla has created a home system that provides products for all aspects of sustainable living. At present, they have available:

  • Tesla Solar Panels
  • Tesla Powerwall 3 Battery Storage
  • Tesla EV Charging

To bring all these elements together, Tesla has its energy app. The app allows users to manage their Tesla products from anywhere at any time. Users can see data and insights, impact cards, and even charge stats that show the total spending and savings from charging their vehicle.

Tesla Industrial Solutions

Tesla also offers large-scale energy storage solutions for industrial applications. The Tesla Megapack is a powerful, integrated battery system that provides cleaner, cost-effective energy storage. At its core, this large-scale system helps to stabilise the grid and prevent outages. Other key points Tesla makes about this system include:

  • Infinite Scalability
  • Easy Installation
  • Safe to operate
  • Optimised for performance

Tesla states that it has a manufacturing capacity of 20,000 units per year, which equates to 400 fossil-fuel peaker plants of energy storage!
