Renewables businesses across the North East come together to support 80-year-old with reducing their energy bills.

Earlier this month, the team at DMH got together with a group of other installers and renewables manufacturers to do some good as a way of thanking the community. When 80-year-old Ray Hemingway from Richmond was faced with a challenging circumstance, we knew it was right to help him save money on his energy bills – free of charge.

DMH help reduce energy bills for 80 year old with free installation

Ray Hemingway is 80 years old from Richmond, who cares for his terminally ill wife. After Dan Holliday found this out, he knew he had to help out. After reaching out to a few industry contacts, a group of businesses was quickly assembled that were willing to help the couple free of charge. “When I heard Ray’s circumstances, I wanted to help,” said Dan Holliday.

“DMH will always try and support the local community. It is the community around us that keeps our business alive by recommendations and buying our products.

“Ultimately, without paying something back to the community, we are nothing without the people around us.”

Some of the fantastic companies that joined DMH in this mammoth project included East Renewables, Oval Renewables, Power Sonic Electrical, Longi (panel manufacturers), Van der Valk (solar roof mounting), SolaSkirt, Edmundson Electrical (Stockton) and BS Scaffold. All the companies freely gave their time and materials to support the community project, a fantastic sight showing what was capable when a group of installers came together with the same goal.

Sarah Wallace, Sales Director UK and Ireland from Longi said: “When we heard about Ray’s situation, we just wanted to help. As a global manufacturer, it is always important to support local communities and give something back.

“When I spoke to DMH Electrical and Renewables, there was no question about Longi getting involved to support this couple with a really good Solar PV system.”

Dan said: “It means the world to us to get involved in projects like this. We are supporting people in their time of need. That are either needing help with their energy bills or have something going on in their life.

“If one day in the future, I would hope that if my friends or family ever needed help, there would be a community to support them – it is important to pay it forward.”
