We’ve used the UK’s first Anker Solix Power Dock Pro Backup Gateway – here’s what we think of it.

We can finally share the exciting news that DMH is currently using the first Anker Solix three phase Backup Gateway to be installed in the UK. The Power Dock 3 Phase ATS Backup Gateway is set in our showroom, but it isn’t just for show – as it’s currently powering the office for day-to-day operations, and charging the EV car in the car park.

How does it work?

On the rooftop of the DMH office, we have 18 JA 455 bifacial solar panels, placed to generate energy from the sun. From this array, a total of 8.2kW peak then goes down to our Anker Solix 3-phase unit. This 11kW inverter is a 3 Phase unit,  which is great for larger homes or businesses like ours. Coupled to this is 10 kWh of battery storage, allowing us to generate, store and consume our own electricity at the office for things such as devices, appliances and lighting in our warehouse. If you’re looking for Dan’s full review of the system, we covered it in our latest YouTube video.

Why did we choose Anker Solix?

The Anker Solix is a module battery storage system, meaning that we can stack multiple batteries up to 30kWh, which is perfect for businesses that are using electricity throughout the day, compared to homes, which use electricity during peak times. This is perfect for our needs at DMH and enforces our belief that we “practice what we preach” when it comes to renewable systems. We are also an Anker Ambassador, including their systems in our trusted brands for systems our customers should be using. Read more about our trusted brands in our blog.

Not only does the Anker Solix look great in our showroom, but it also functionally meets our needs as a business. Its built-in AI monitoring looks into the energy consumption of the office, connected to Octopus Energy Agile tariff, to pick the best times of the day to sell energy back to the grid or even buy cheap energy to store.

Anker Solix Power Dock Pro Backup Gateway

We’ve had the pleasure of installing and testing the UK’s first Power Dock 3 Backup Gateway – so here are our thoughts and opinions on this addition and everything you need to know about it!

The backup gateway has a full aluminium construction matching the aesthetics of the Anker Solix X1. It includes 2 inverter outputs, which allow 2 X1 systems to be connected and running from it, with a smart port for third-party solar to wire in to.

As of right now, the Anker Solix Power Dock Pro Backup Gateway offers the full home backup battery storage capability, working with solar PV and EV charging. It’s designed to work harmoniously with your other renewable systems to increase the efficiency of your home. We mentioned earlier that it isn’t just homes that this system can support, with it being perfect for businesses of all sizes, offering whole building backup power, energy security and maximum self-consumption.

We can also say that there are even more additions in the pipeline for this exciting new addition to the Anker line of products. Keep an eye on our social media for the latest news!
